In India, we have a “Sacrifice Mindset” toward taxes.
We think that paying taxes is a “Duty” we owe to the motherland, and that we should be “Grateful” if the government builds a road or a bridge. We are taught to never ask where the money goes.
This is Fiscal Slavery.
To be a Sovereign Indian, you must move to a “Service Mindset.” You must realize that Taxes are the “Fees” you pay for a service. If the service is bad, you have the right—and the duty—to demand a refund or a reform.
The Honest Taxpayer: The Smallest Minority
The “Direct Taxpayer” in India is the Most Exploited Person in the Republic.
Only about 2-3% of Indians pay income tax. This small minority provides the majority of the resources that the state uses to fund its subsidies and its “Grand Spectacles.”
And what do they get in return?
- They don’t get Quality Schools (they pay for private ones).
- They don’t get Safe Water (they buy filters and tankers).
- They don’t get Fast Justice (they wait for decades).
A sovereign individual stops being a “Silent Martyr.” You realize that you are a Shareholder in the Nation. You start demanding a “Return on Investment” (ROI) for your tax rupees.
“Where is my return?”: Demanding Public Goods
We must move the conversation from “How much do we collect?” to “How well do we spend?”
The Saffron Cage and the Khadi Ruins both love “Grand Spectacles.” They spend trillions on statues, on stadiums, and on advertising their own faces.
Path 3 focuses on “Granular Goods.”
- We want Clean Air.
- We want Walkable Sidewalks.
- We want Fast Courts.
- We want Transparent Records.
A sovereign individual doesn’t care about the “World’s tallest statue” if the hospital in their town has no oxygen. You judge a government not by its “Roar,” but by its “Reliability.”
Direct vs. Indirect Tax: The Unfair Burden
While only a few pay income tax, Every Indian pays GST.
Indirect taxes—taxes on salt, oil, phones, and services—are Regressive. They hit the poor harder than the rich.
A sovereign individual supports Fiscal Fairness.
- We want a system where the Tax Base is Broadened (so everyone contributes a little).
- We want Tax Rates to be Lowered (so the incentive to hide money is gone).
- We want the removal of the “Complex Slabs” that allow the bureaucrat to “Audit” and “Extort” at will.
We want a tax system that is Automated, Predictable, and Simple.
Financial Literacy: Understanding the Ledger
Most Indians are Economically Blind.
We don’t understand the “Budget.” We don’t understand “Inflation.” We don’t understand “Fiscal Deficit.” Because we don’t understand the numbers, the politicians can lie to us with slogans.
Path 3 requires Fiscal Intelligence.
- You must learn how to read a Municipal Budget.
- You must understand that “Freebies” are not free—they are paid for by Inflation (which steals your savings) or by Borrowing (which steals your children’s future).
- You must treat the national economy with the same rigor you treat your own household account.
If the government is a “Business,” you are the Auditor.
The Verdict
Taxation without Accountability is Loot.
By demanding transparency, you are protecting your own sovereignty. You are ensuring that your labor is not being wasted on the vanities of a leader.
Now that we have fixed the “Wealth,” we must look at the “Worker.”
Let us look at Labor and Dignity.
